Vehicle Mounted Lifting Equipment Design Engineer Role

An opportunity has arisen within our SwingLift division specialising in the design and manufacture of vehicle mounted cranes and lifting platforms. SwingLift is a highly regarded brand to customers such as Ford, VW, BT, Severn Trent and Network Rail. The successful candidate will work within a specialist team and support a wide variety of unique and high-quality projects for customers at home and abroad. The role will not be limited to vehicle mounted equipment and so the candidate must be prepared to be flexible within the team.

The role is a permanent position, based at our offices/factory in Clowne, Chesterfield.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be integrated within our team and to perform the following roles:

  • Produce innovative design solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop designs using Autodesk Inventor and produce drawings suitable for manufacture, including machining and fabrication drawings.
  • Have due regard to legislation and British Standards.
  • Liaise with the client on designs.
  • Fully cost designs and produce a bill of materials.
  • Trouble shoot production problems.
  • Produce system layouts and module assemblies.
  • Work alongside the production team to ensure a successful delivery.
  • Produce operation and service manuals.
