At Penny Engineering, we offer our annual service programme nationwide. Our skilled engineers are based all over the UK ready to provide an efficient and thorough service to your Penny Engineering product.

Understanding Your Legal Requirements

The specific set of regulations that operators need to be aware of is the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER). These regulations require that:

  • All lifting equipment is thoroughly examined before being used for the first time and at set intervals throughout its life (please note that the inspection carried out when a device is initially installed is particularly important, as a check is made on the stability and security of the mountings in an overload situation)
  • Records are kept of the examinations
  • Maintenance is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations
  • You only purchase equipment that carries the CE / UKCA mark
  • Equipment is only used for its intended use
  • Lifting operations are planned and their risks assessed
  • Operators are trained and competent

We offer statutory thorough examination and maintenance schemes for all our lifting products, nationwide.

Engineers around the UK are directly employed by Penny Engineering and only work on Penny Engineering equipment ensuring appropriate stock is kept on vans for maximum first-time-fix rates. 

At special request, we will travel worldwide to carry out service and inspection work on equipment that we have sold and installed to ensure complete peace of mind.

Expertise You Can Trust

Our office-based Service Team can track our Field Engineers and keep in touch via phone and schedule jobs via a tablet that is instantly closed down on completion – keeping you posted with live information.

The database will automatically raise jobs at the appropriate time to save you the trouble of remembering when service and inspection work is due. All documentation is also held electronically on our system ready for when you may need it.

We will tailor your maintenance and inspection requirements in line with LOLER and to reflect the duty cycle and working environment. This minimises downtime, cost, and inconvenience.
